Dorothy O’quinn
Haysi, VA – Dorothy O’quinn, age 93 of Cindy Fork Rd, passed away Friday, October 7, 2016 at her residence. Born in Buchanan County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Alice Charles Thacker. She was a homemaker and member of Haysi Church of Christ for 58 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Ray O’quinn, a son, Denver Allen O’quinn, two sons-in-law, Floyd Preston O’quinn and Everett Deel, a brother, Arthur Thacker, and sisters, Edna Robinson, Pinkie Viers, Mary Deel, and an infant sister.
Survivors include two sons, Daniel (Delores) O’quinn and William (Wilma) O’quinn both of Haysi, four daughters, Bernice (Larry) Edwards of Wadell, AZ, Connie Deel of Haysi, Roxie O’quinn of Haysi, and Tammy O’quinn of Haysi, two sisters, Rosie Thacker of NC and Jo-Ann Deel of Prater, two brothers, Ira Thacker of Prater, and Jimmy Thacker of Rosedale, VA, 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 9, 2016 at Haysi Church of Christ with Tony Jones and Mickey Tiller officiating. Burial will follow in the O’quinn-Deel Cemetery, Haysi. Pallbearers will be grandsons, sons-in-law, and members of Haysi Church of Christ. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Haysi Funeral Home where a song service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to www.haysifuneral.com.
