Melster Reece Tracy

Haysi, VA – Melster Reece Tracy, age 90 passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2016 in Heritage Hall, Clintwood, VA. Born in Dickenson County she was a daughter of the late Joseph Smith and Vicey Clevinger Reece. She was a homemaker and was a member of Russell Prater Old Regular Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence “Dick” Tracy; a son, Luther Lee “Butch” Sutherland; four brothers, Johnny Reece, Joseph “Junior” Smith, Elder James Roy Reece and Ralph Reece; two sisters, Gladys Sutherland and an infant sister Lula Melvina; four step-sisters, Alice, Oma, Fannie and Spicey and one step-brother, Fred.
Survivors include her grandchildren, Layayna, Vicey and Travis and nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Roger Coleman, Mark Justice, and Terry Hall officiating. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 12, 2016 at the Family Cemetery, Haysi. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
