Sidney Carl Counts

Haysi, VA – Sidney Carl Counts, age 73 of Wagon Trail Road passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016. Born in Dickenson County, he was a son of Irene Edwards Counts and the late Howard Counts. He was a retired hoist operator / coal miner. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a baby daughter Suzette Counts and baby sister Carolyn Counts.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife Janice Counts; a son, Greg Counts; a daughter, Terrie Counts; a grandson, Heath Counts; a great grandson, Jentry Counts and a sister, Diana (Willard) Owens.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Noah Kim Edwards and Roger Fuller officiating. Burial will follow in the Dewey Sutherland Cemetery, Haysi, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at 12:00 prior to the funeral service.
