Haysi, VA- Kermit Nolan Stanley, age 40 of Dickenson Highway, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at his home. Born in Wise County, he was a son of Nolan Monroe and Mildred Glenetta Dingus Stanley. He was a 1993 Pound High School graduate, he was a delivery tech and delivered Medical equipment. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Nolan and Cora Stanley and maternal grandfather, Thelmar Dingus.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife, Tresa Carol Stanley, two daughters, Carrie (Cory) Hines of Roanoke and Ellen (A.J.) Jones of Sacramento, CA, a soon to be grandson, Eli Stanley Hines, a sister, Jean Stanley of Pound, brothers, Will (Kim) Stanley of Coeburn and Edward (Jetta) Stanley of Pound, father-in-law, Bruce and Rose Dye, mother-in-law, Rita and Clyde Mullins, a sister-in-law, Traci and James Joyce and maternal grandmother, Ethel Dingus of Pound.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Haysi Funeral Home with Roy Smith officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Stanley Family Cemetery, Covington, Road, Pound, VA. Pallbearers will be Jeff Stanley, Eddie Stanley, Nathan Hill, Derek Kendrick, Jacob Morgan and Andrew Morgan. Honorary pallbearers will be Leonard Boggs, Adam Stanley, Jerry Strouth, James Joyce, Wade Dye and Harold Dye.
