Obituary for Helen Fields (Mullins)

Helen Fields
Haysi, VA – Helen Fields, age 98 of Bartlick, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2016 at her home. Born in Dickenson County, she was a daughter of the late General Jackson and Matilda Sykes Mullins. She was a homemaker and member of Splashdam Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Mack Fields, a daughter, Trula Mae, brothers; Arvil, Jim, Dee, Johnny, Pridemore, and Early Mullins, sisters; Aurora, Dona, Lou Emma, and Chloe, three infant siblings, a great-granddaughter, Leann Owens, and great-grandson, Anthony Craig Gibson.
Survivors include two daughters, Joyce (late Willie) Mullins of Haysi and Barbara (Larry) Owens of Haysi, six sons; Stoney (EuraBelle) Fields, Earl (Mavis) Fields, Roger (Patty) Fields, Hank (Teresa) Fields, Wilson Fields, and Tommy Fields all of Haysi, 22 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at Splashdam Freewill Baptist Church with Danny Sluss and Danny Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the Mitchell-Senter Cemetery on Bartlick. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends after 5:00 p.m. on Monday at the church where a song service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to www.haysifuneral.com.
