Haysi, VA- Nella Fay Yates, age 76 of Graham Road, passed away Friday, April 1, 2016 at her home. Born in Buchanan County, she was a daughter of the late George Marion and Phoeby Deel O’quinn. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hancel Yates, a son, Tommy Joe Yates, a grandson, Dominic Yates and brothers, Ray, Joel, Jack, Fearl, Joe and Ernie.
Survivors include three daughters, Marcella Jean Yates of Haysi, Tina Fay (Brady) Fuller of Vansant and Amanda Elizabeth Stiltner of Haysi, four sons, Dennis Ray Yates, Scotty Yates, Timmy (Robin) Yates and Hancel (Charlene)Yates Jr. all of Haysi, 16 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, three sisters, Elva Blankenship of Vansant, Susie Yates and Bertha Yates both of Haysi, two brothers, Willie O’quinn of Haysi and Jimmy O’quinn of OH.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 4, 2016 at Coleman’s United Methodist Church with Darrell Thacker officiating. Burial will follow in Yates Cemetery, Haysi, VA.
