Rita Faye Keen
Haysi, VA – Rita Faye Keen, age 60 of Big Ridge Road, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Pikeville Medical Center. Born in Norfolk, VA, she was a daughter of Mona Hill and her late step-father, Estil Hill. She was last employed at Haysi Drug, past member of Haysi Rescue Squad, and was a member of Clinchco Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to her step-father, she was preceded in death by sisters, Bridgette Swiney, Dorothy Yates, and Marie Mullins.
In addition to her mother, survivors include her husband, Chester Keen, two sons, John (Ashley) Keen, Jamie (Cyndi) Keen, and a daughter, Nicole Keen, grandchildren, Lakin Keen, Cassie Keen, Luke Keen, and Rylee Keen, brothers, Ronnie (Nina) Hill and Tommy (Jeannie) Hill, and a special niece and great niece, Donna and Heather Stanley.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Haysi Funeral Home with Johnny Turner, Jerry Vitatoe, and Subby Holbrook officiating. Burial will follow in the Elswick Keen Cemetery at Deskins, VA. Pallbearers will be Nathan Hill, Josh Yates, Cody Yates, Richie Hill, John Whitt, Avery Hackney, Monty Elswick, Eddie Elswick, Dennis Fields, Cody Elswick, Matthew Lane, and Dewayne Yates. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8 at the funeral home with an evening service at 7:00 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to www.haysifuneral.com.
