Obituary for Thomas W. Yates

Thomas W. Yates
Bee, VA – Thomas W. Yates, age 56, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at his residence. He was a son of Erma Jean Yates and the late Robert Lee Yates. Mr. Yates was last employed as a coal miner and was of the Primitive Baptist Faith. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Cora Hill and father-in-law, Charles Ballard.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Janet “Ann” Yates, a son, Burton (Shari) Yates of Roanoke, VA, a brother, Lee Roy (Sherry) Yates of Haysi, VA, father-in-law, Charlie (Adele Davis) Hill of Clintwood, VA, nieces, Sedina, Christie, Holly, Taylor, and Amber, and nephews, Doug, Matthew, Josh, Eric, Mike, Joe, and Dale.
Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elder Jim Duty officiating. Graveside services will be in the Jimmy Deel Cemetery, Birchleaf, VA 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 26. The procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Doug Wampler, Joe Yates, and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. on Thursday prior to the funeral service. Online condolences may be sent to www.haysifuneral.com. Haysi Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
