Birchleaf, VA- Donnie Keith Stanley, age 65 of Rocklick Road, passed away Friday, January 22, 2016 at his home. Born in Dickenson County, he was a son of the late Rex and Angeta Mullins Stanley. He was a 1970 Haysi High School graduate, he served in the U.S Army during Vietnam and was last employed as a coal miner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Stanley and a brother Dean Stanley.
Survivors include his wife Debra, two sons, Will Stanley of the home and Eric Stanley of Birchleaf, three daughters, Linda Lawson of Birchleaf, Kitty (Lawerence) Hill of Vilseck, Germany and Kathy Dunham of Junction City, KS, three granddaughters, Dalynn Taylor, Laren Taylor and Alexandria Dunham,two grandsons, Derick and Dillen Lawson, two sisters, Carolyn (Sam) Sanders of Elkhorn City, KY and Brenda Bostic of Honaker, four brothers, Gene Stanley and Roy (Cathy) Stanley both of Castlewood, Ronnie (Sharon) Stanley of Wise and Paul Stanley of Haysi.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Haysi Funeral Home with Chris Comer officiating. Burial will follow in Family Cemetery, Birchleaf, VA. Pallbearers will be Don Colley, Brian Owens, Scott Boyd, James Ball, Kyle Powers and Delman Ramey. Honorary pallbearers will be brothers. VFW Post # 8979 will conduct military graveside rites.
