Ronny Virgil Turner
Haysi, VA – Ronny Turner, age 66 of Backbone Ridge, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was the son of the late Virgil and Allafair Stanford Turner. He was a member and past president of Haysi Kiwanis Club, currently serving as Kiwanis Lt. Governor District 17, and was assistant chairperson of the Dickenson County Fair Committee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Patricia Yates and Thelma Gay Vanover.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria V. Turner, a daughter, Heather (Mark) Blair of Whitesburg, KY, a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Shae Davis, two step-grandchildren, Zane and Morgan Blair, and three sisters, Loretta Viers of Clinchco, VA, Lois (Gene) Edwards and Theda June Deel both of Michigan.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elder Roger Rose officiating. Burial will follow in the R.D. Viers Cemetery, Clinchco. Members of Haysi Kiwanis Club will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends after 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 26, at the funeral home where a song and prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. with Elder Carvel Edwards.
