Haysi, VA- Jackie Yates Raines, age 80 of Dickenson Highway, passed away Monday, September 7, 2015 at the home of Phillip and Sandy Owens. Born in Dickenson County, she was a daughter of the late Jerry Yates and Roxie Deel Yates Branham. She was a member of Splashdam Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walker Raines, brothers, Ervin, Donald Keith and Elder Jerry Yates Jr. and a sister, Annette Yates Owens.
Survivors include two daughters, Kim (Blane) Owens and Vickie(Charles) Viers both of Prater, three granddaughters, Heather (Jody) Bowman, Kelly Jo (Bob) Lowery and Mandy Boyd, three great-grandchildren, Dillon Lowery, Hayley Owens and Emily Bartley, two sisters, Shelby Taylor and Myrna Barr of Richmond and a brother, Greg Branham of North Carolina.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Haysi Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Sluss officiating. Burial will follow in Jackson-Owens Cemetery, Birchleaf, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
