Haysi, VA- Johnny Mack Bartley, age 64, passed away Friday, June 26, 2015 at his home. Born in Haysi, he was a son of Anna Lee Wallace Bartley and the late James Carroll Bartley. He was last employed as a miner at Island Creek and was a member of Splashdam Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Chasity Hope Edwards and a sister, Evelyn Marie Bartley.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his companion and caregiver, Rhonda Rose of Haysi, a daughter, Jessica Edwards of Birchleaf, 3 grandchildren, three brothers, Roger (Pam) Bartley of Richmond, Ron (Rita) Bartley of Cherawu, S.C. and Don (Linda) Bartley of Ashboro, N.C. and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family to help with medical bills.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Sunday, June 28, 2015 at Splashdam Freewill Baptist Church with Jerry Vitatoe and Don Bartley officiating. Burial will follow in Bartley-Wallace Cemetery, Haysi, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
