Judy F. Charles Lockhart
Vansant, VA – Judy F. Charles Lockhart, age 69 of Lockhart Branch, passed away Friday, April 3, 2015 from an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Birchie Looney Charles. She was a member of Coleman’s Methodist Church, a loving wife, and mother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, William B. Lockhart, a son, Timothy Lane Lockhart, and a brother, Jerry Charles.
She is survived by a daughter, Tammy Lockhart and a son, Tony Lockhart both of Vansant, brothers, Kermit Charles of Vansant and Arton (Pauline) Charles of Bristol, VA, sisters, Geneva (Phillip) Willis of Rising Sun, MD, Ruby Looney of Vansant, Olagay Smith of Lebanon, VA, Diane (David) Viers of Vansant, and Joetta (Dave) Kiser of Vansant.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Coleman’s Methodist Church with Darrell Thacker and Russell Lockhart officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens, Claypool Hill, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. on Monday, April 6 at the church where an evening service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Special thanks to Bristol Regional Medical Center ICU #3 staff for all their compassion and caring.
