Ira Frank Boyd
Dante, VA – Ira Frank Boyd, age 76 of Hazel Mountain, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Bristol Regional Medical Center. Born in Buchanan County, he was a son of the late Jim and Delphia Charles Boyd. He was a retired coal miner and of the Pentecostal faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Sheila Boyd and brothers, Ransome Boyd and David Boyd.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Kay Boyd, three daughters, Stella McCaulley of Nova Scotia, Canada, Brandy Edwards of Abingdon, VA and Tina Fleming of Birchleaf, VA, a son, Kevin (Kim) Sutherland of Clintwood, VA, five brothers, Billy (Linda) Boyd, Hassell Boyd, Ray Boyd, and Tommy Boyd all of Davenport, VA and George (Beth) Boyd of Clintwood, a sister, Margie Boyd Wenner of Bee, VA, nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a special niece, Anita “Sis” Deel of Abingdon.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 23, 2015 at Haysi Funeral Home with Jeff Tiller and Keith Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Sutherland Cemetery, Bee, VA. Pallbearers will be Kevin Sutherland, George Boyd, Bill Boyd, Shawn Sutherland, Don Deel, Dakota Fleming, Don Owens, and Steve Mullins. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at the funeral home where a service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to www.haysifuneral.com.
