Obituary for Bonnie Barton (Boyd)

Bonnie Barton
Davenport, VA – Bonnie Barton, age 83, passed away
Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Holston Valley Medical Center. Born in Buchanan County, she was a daughter of the late Elbert and Eunice Lester Boyd. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Barton, brothers, Virgil, Brady, and Fearl Boyd, and sisters, Imogene Woods Amos, Eula Gay Owens, Fannie Boyd, Ruth Woods, Fern Plante, and her twin sister, Fonnie Boyd.
Survivors include a son, Dale (Scooda) Barton of Clinchco, VA, sisters, Arbutus Rasnick of Summerfield, FL, Frances (Don) Gilbert of Bee, VA, and Patricia Lockhart of Honaker, VA, two brothers, Eddie (Mary) Boyd and Jennings (Judy) Boyd both of Vansant, VA, a sister-in-law, Ora Boyd of Bee, two grandchildren, David and Lesha Nichols both of Clinchco, a great-granddaughter, Emilee Grace “Gracie” Nichols of Clinchco, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Garnell Gilbert and Noah Kim Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the Boyd Family Cemetery, Hurricane Creek. Pallbearers will be Jeff Helton, Dustin Helton, Harvey Helton, James Ray Gilbert, Jamie Gilbert, Shane Gilbert and nephews. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 16, at the funeral home where a service will be held at 7:00 p.m. with Don Sullivan.
