Haysi, VA- Pearlie Yates, age 89, passed away Thursday, September 18, 2014. Pearlie was a lifelong resident of Haysi and was of the Old Regular Baptist faith.
Pearlie was preceded in death by her husband, James Ervin Yates, Parents, George B. and Princie Deel Yates, 10 brothers, 6 sisters and several nieces and nephews.
Survivors include a son, Darrell Yates and wife Debbie, grandchildren, Tabitha Keen and husband Brian, Tonya Barton and husband Tony, four great-grandchildren, Cannon, Maddox, Kiersten and Easton, several nieces and nephews, plus a host of other relatives.
Pearlie was an inspiration to all who knew her. She had the kindest heart of anyone. She adored her only son, Darrell and loved to spend time with her family. She meant the world to her two granddaughters and great-grandchildren. We will miss her with all our hearts and will always cherish the times we had together.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Andy Deel, Elbert Hagerman, Russell Hicks and Earl Dean Yates. Burial will follow in Yates Cemetery, Haysi, Va. Pallbearers will be Tony Barton, Brian Keen, Ray Yates, Donnie Turner, Jeffery L. Yates and Billy Yates. Honorary palklbearers will be Elbert Hagerman, Russell Hicks, Earl Dean Yates and Andy Deel.
