Clinchco, VA- Eva Edwards, age 88 of Maple Drive, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at the home of her daughter, Betty. Born in Dickenson County, she was a daughter of the late Beldon and Frances Perrigan Edwards. She was an Avon Representative for over 40 years, a member of Sandy Basin Primitive Baptist Church for over 50 years, a member of Haysi Rescue Squad, Friend Finders and Senior Citizens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Whetsel Edwards, a son, Whetsel Keith Edwards, a grandson, Nathan Edwards, brothers, Earl, Estil, Cecil, D.C.,Beldon Jr. and Danny Perrigan.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Saunders of Clinchco and Lena (James) Hughes of Clintwood, three sons, Ronnie (Ellen) Edwards of Bristol, Roger (Sandy) Edwards and John (Corena) Edwards both of Clinchco, four sisters, Margie Edwards of MI, Ruby Edwards of NC, Dolly Whitt of MI and Beulah Land of Clinchco, 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Joe L. Edwards and Roger Fuller officiating. Burial will follow in Nathan Edwards Cemetery, Clinchco, VA. Pallbearers will be Grandsons and great-grandsons.
