Ruby Edwards

Utica, OH – Ruby Edwards, age 88 passed away Thursday, August 28, 2014 in Utica, OH. Born in Colley, VA she was a daughter of the late Quincy and Isabelle Fuller Deel. She attended the Lighthouse of Utica and was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Edwards, a daughter, Barbara Taylor, and a brother, Granville Deel.
Survivors include three daughters, Idella (Connie) Mullins of Clintwood, VA, Serita (Garry) Root of Utica, Deloris (Gordan) Rippy of Dennison, TX, two sons, Jerry (Brenda) Edwards of Haysi, and Larry M. Edwards of Powell, OH, 13 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and a brother, R.J. Deel of McClure, VA.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 1, 2014 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elder Jimmy Counts officiating. Burial will follow in Ketron Memorial Gardens, Lebanon, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 31, 2014 at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to www.haysifuneral.com.
