LONEY COMPTON
Bristol, VA- Loney Compton, age 88, of Clayman Road, went to be with the Lord Sunday, August 3, 2014 at her home following a brief illness. Born November 28, 1925 in Buchanan County, she was a daughter of the late Ebb and Pricey Jane Deel O’quinn. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rueal Compton, sisters, Ollie Owens, Mary Jane Owens and Lantha O’quinn and brothers, Rice and Pete O’quinn.
Survivors include her sons, Gary Compton of Ohio, Edmond (Maxine) Compton of Wytheville, Darrell (Marie) Compton of Elkhorn City, KY, Clellan Compton of Wytheville, Clayton (Rose) Compton of Abingdon, Michael (Margaret) Compton of Lebanon, Ricky (Nina) Compton and Dexter (Rebecca) Compton both of Bristol, two sisters, Louisa Kiser of Richmond and Hazel Harris of South Carolina, a brother, Junior Lee O’quinn of Danville, 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Haysi Funeral Home with Stuart Addair officiating. Burial will follow in Sutherland Cemetery, Vansant, VA. Grandsons will be pallbearers.
