CLARA MAE PRESLEY
Vansant, VA- Clara Mae Presley, age 76 of Hurricane Road, passed away Monday, June 9, 2014 at her home. Born in Dickenson County, she was a daughter of the late Willie and Julia Mae Owens Sutherland. She was a homemaker and was of the Primitive Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 infant sisters, Carol and Fern Sutherland and 3 brothers, Garland, Earl and Duane Sutherland.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Matawaska Presley, a daughter, Kimberly O’quinn, a sister, Lois Willis of Richmond, two brothers, Jearl (Carrie) Sutherland and Norman (Lanie) Sutherland both of Bristol, a sister-in-law, Penny Sutherland of Bristol, an aunt, Vonnie Yates of Clintwood, a best friend, Alene Pruitt and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders, Garnell Gilbert, Don Stacy and Jim Duty officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 12, 2014 at the Presley Cemetery, Vansant, VA.
