Obituary for Mildred Annie Thomas

Haysi, VA – Mildred Annie Thomas, age 84, passed away at her home Wednesday, April 9, 2014. Born is Dickenson County she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Margaret Ann Jessee Rasnick. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Earsel Edwards; her second husband, Danny Thomas; children, Danny, Ray and Byron Edwards; brothers, Asa, Clyde, Ray, Billy, Dewey, Charlie Jr. and Nolan Rasnick; sisters, Francis, Doris and Lois.
Survivors include her daughters, Donna (Lawrence) Barnhart of Lebanon, VA; Carol (Tim) Stiltner and Cynthia Thomas both of Haysi, VA; a son, Anthony Thomas; sisters, Mae (Johnny) Turner of Mt. Washington, KY, Leah Sutherland of Pylesville, MD and Clara Mullins of Louisville, KY; brothers, Ed (Edie) Rasnick of Marion, OH and,Eugene (Jeannie) Rasnick of Birchleaf, VA; 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2014 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elder Joe L. Edwards and Roger Fuller officiating. Burial will follow in the A.J. Edwards Cemetery, Birchleaf, VA. Pallbearers will be family and friends. A visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. prior to the funeral service on Friday.
