Timothy W. Stevens
Council, VA – Timothy W. Stevens, age 54, passed away Friday, January 31, 2014 at his residence. Born in Dickenson County, he was a son of Sandra Clark Stevens Street and the late Clyde Raymond Stevens. He was a member of Trinity Freewill Baptist Church and was last employed as a truck driver. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Elder Elbert and Rhoda Stevens, father-in-law, Claudie F. Edwards and a nephew Andrew Baker.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Vonda Stevens, children, Shannon (Benjamin) Large of Coeburn, VA, Timothy Wayne Stevens, Jr. of Abingdon, VA, Laura Beth ( Josh) Mullins of Clintwood, VA, and Maranda Lee Deel of the home, grandchildren, Ariel Grace Stanley, Raymond Issac Large, Benson Isaiah Large, Kloe Elizabeth Mullins, Kaylee Marie Mullins, and Kinsley Brooke Mullins, a sister, Vickie (Nubern) Baker of Clinchco, several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews, and his personal care aide Natasha.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Haysi Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Lee Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Stevens Cemetery on Neely Ridge. Pallbearers will be Chandler Edwards, David Duty, Joshua Mullins, Toby Edwards, Rick Dotson, and Lee Walden. Honorary pallbearers will be James Turner and sons, Johnny Hackney, Timothy Edwards, Claudie Edwards and sons, Tivis and Fayne Rasnick, and Bobby Hammons. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. on Monday, February 3 at the funeral home where a service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to www.haysifuneral.com.
