BILLY FLOYD WOOD
Clinchco, VA- Billy Floyd Wood, age 48, of Low Gap Road passed away Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Mountain View Hospital in Norton, VA. Born in Maryland, he was a son of Roby Wood of Delaware and Wilhelmena Hay of Clinchco. He was last employed as a machinist in a filter factory and was of the Freewill Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Andy Floyd and Lula Stanley Wood and maternal grandparents, Armond and Lilly Newberry Bowen.
In addition to his parents, survivors include a brother, Michael (Diana) Wood of Clinchco, a niece, Ashley (Jessee) Bernado of Pittsburg, PA, a nephew, Michael Ryan Wood of Clinchco, a great-nephew, Mekhi J. Wood, three step-daughters, Rita Senter, Ashley Hay and Sue Owens and 8 step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 27, 2014 at Haysi Funeral Home with Denver Kelley and Darrell Milgrim officiating. Burial will follow in Wood Family Cemetery, Clinchco, VA. Pallbearers will be family and friends and Mekhi Wood will serve as honorary pallbearer.
