Condolence: Dear Beautiful “Mom” –

It all started with that antique china cabinet ad in the newspaper in 1976. I bought it from you and still have it in my dining room. I don’t think I could ever part with it. That and the many other pieces in my home are treasured by me because I feel as if they are a part of you here with me.

No one could ever imagine the fun and laughs we had together. Such adventures --- buying all those antiques week after week all over metro Detroit and needing a shoe horn to get them all in my car to bring home (except when we would have to call Jim to bring the van!).

People would always refer to you as my mom and to me as your daughter. It became so constant that we started calling each other Mom & Daughter. And that was the true relationship that developed. We actually became mother and daughter and shared a true love for one another.

You were always there for me whether I was laughing or crying or dieting! Remember the time I was on your floor trying to zip up a pair of jeans that were really too small for me? You decided they would fit and that zipper was going to go up. You told me to stay put for a minute and you went to the basement, got a pair of pliers and got down on the floor straddling over me and got that zipper UP! Gosh darn you were determined.

You are a big piece of my heart.

Your loving hugs and kisses will stay with me always.

I am so fortunate to be your “daughter”. I’ll forever see the smile on your face and hear you calling me Daughter. And I know you hear me calling you Mom.

Having you to love then and forever is a gift to me.

With All My Love,
Aletta
