Janice Loraine Charles
Clintwood, VA – Loraine Charles, age 78 of Tarpon Lane, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Norton Community Hospital. Born in Dickenson County, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Crissie Vandyke Hess. She was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal Faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Charles and a sister, Oma Simpson.
Survivors include two sons, Clifford (Brenda) Coleman of Clinchco, VA and Sam Coleman of AL, two daughters, Dorsie Stanley of Abingdon, VA and Nancy (Tony) Villa of AL, a sister, Gerldine (Fern) Dales of Newark, OH, a brother, Fearl Hess of UT, 16 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and three step-children, Mike (Pam) Charles of Clintwood, VA, Dave (Phyllis) Charles of MI, and Joe (Beth) Charles of FL.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Carvel Edwards and David O’quinn officiating. Burial will follow in the Newberry Cemetery, Newberry Ridge. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. on Monday, November 25 at the funeral home where a song service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to www.haysifuneral.com.
