Birchleaf, VA – Elder Teddy “Bruce” Edwards, age 69 of Hurricane Branch passed away Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, TN. Born in Dickenson County, he was a son of the late Delmon and Julia Anderson Edwards. He was a member and assistant moderator of Lick Creek Primitive Baptist Church and an Elder of the Sandlick Association. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Buford, Billy Jr. and Danie and a sister, Gay.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda; children, Delmon (Kim) Edwards of Haysi, VA, Kimberly Edwards and Kelly Rife both of Bristol, VA and David (Conda) Edwards of Marion, VA; 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; brothers, Larry (Dane) Edwards and Mack (Barbara) Edwards both of Birchleaf, VA; sisters, Theda (Larry) Childress of Haysi, VA and Lena Paquette of Shelby Township, MI; his mother and father in law, Bob and Dixie Edwards of Birchleaf, VA; several brothers and sisters in law, nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Bobby Rose, Jim Duty, Ronnie Rose and Noah Kim Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the Anderson Cemetery, Birchleaf, VA. Pallbearers will be nephews and grandsons. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home where an evening service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Online condoliences may be sent to www.haysifuneral.com.
