Vansant, VA- Larry Owens, age 56 of Rams Horn Road, passed away Monday, June 3, 2013 at Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, KY. He was a son of Maggie Owens and the late Burton Owens. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Owens, a sister, Wanda Charles, a nephew, Derrick Charles, and a brother-in-law, Cleamis Deel.
In addition to his mother, survivors include four sisters, Brenda (Roy D.) Stanley and Linda (Doug) Coleman both of Vansant, Patsy Deel and Deborah (Vendette) Deel both of Haysi, a brother, Barry Owens of Vansant and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Garnell Gilbert, Roger Fuller and Noah Kim Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Burton Owens Cemetery, Vansant, VA. Nephews and friends will serve as pallbearers.
